Nekter Juice Cleanse Review

I had my first taste of Nekter in January 2016. A new location had opened where I live, and I mentioned it to my sister (Cam). She, of course, was already familiar with Nekter & told me that her favorite menu item was the PB Bowl (which they are now calling the Acai Peanut Butter Bowl). (I never thought I’d like it so much that I’d soon be writing this Nekter juice cleanse review!)

Whatever the bowl was called, I tried it, and I was hooked. Besides never having had Nekter before this, I had never had an acai bowl before this either (maybe because I don’t live in San Diego, the OC, or L.A.?). Either way, the PB Bowl at Nekter drove me toward my quest to re-create the acai bowl concept at home…which led me to buying a Blendtec blender…which led me to also making lots of smoothies…which led me to realize that Nekter’s Toxin Flush juice is also amazing & how could I make that at home? (green juice with lemon & ginger = amazing)…which leads me to the actual point of this post.

Nekter Juice Cleanse Review

Thanksgiving & Christmas & the associated delicious foods are so close together in the calendar year. That’s not really great for the stomach & any attempts to stick with the foods one knows they should be eating all the year long…unless one has steel willpower, which I don’t. So, I decided that I would do a little re-set (for which my tummy thanked me!). In the middle of the second week of January 2017, I did the (what it was called at the time) Nekter 3-Day Advanced Cleanse.

I hadn’t read any other Nekter juice cleanse reviews, but having already become a fan of Nekter’s products, this seemed like a win-win situation, even though I was literally only going to be consuming juice for 3 whole days (well, for the most part)! I picked up my 18 bottles of juice & made room in the fridge for all of them & went to bed. Thus began my Nekter Juice Bar cleanse review.

Nekter Juice Cleanse Schedule 3-Day Advanced

And so…here was my experience with the Nekter 3-Day Advanced Cleanse, including my Nekter juice cleanse side effects, although anything I experienced was very mild (Note: our Disclosure Policy page). Read on!

Day 1

Juice #1 (apple, celery, cucumber, lime, kale, parsley, spinach, mint)

I set a timer for 2 hours (when I’m supposed to drink bottle #2) & started drinking Nekter cleanse juice #1. If you like green juices in general, you will like this one. I filled the bottle with water & a small amount of low-carb drink mix for flavor after drinking & drank that during the remaining time. I also had my normal one cup of coffee this morning.

Juice #2 (filtered water, lemon, agave nectar, turmeric, black pepper)

11:45 a.m. (yeah, got a late start on #1) – It’s kinda like a really tangy lemonade with black pepper. I like it. I filled the empty bottle with water & low-carb drink mix & drank it all. My stomach feels full. At 12:50 p.m., I was feeling a little woozy.

Juice #3 (apple, celery, beet, lemon, parsley, spinach, ginger)

1:55 p.m. – I’m not really feeling hungry. I started at it anyway. I was most skeptical about the flavor of this one, with the beets involved. However, I really like it. Again, if you like green juices, you’ll like it. I think I like anything that Nekter adds lemon & ginger to! After this one, I filled the empty bottle 1/2 full with a low-carb sports drink recipe that was way too salty (to see if it helps the wooziness – although the wooziness had already begun to subside anyway).

Juice #4 (filtered water, lemon, agave nectar, coconut charcoal)

3:55 p.m. – Again, I’m not hungry at all. It’s kinda weird to be drinking black liquid. However, again, it’s right up my alley. It’s a tangy lemonade. I filled the empty bottle with water & low-carb drink mix & drank about 1/2 of it.

Juice #5 (cucumber, green apple, spinach, kale, parsley, lemon, swiss chard, celery)

5:55 p.m. – My stomach feels full. I really don’t feel like drinking this one right now. It doesn’t help that it’s my least favorite of the entire day. I feel fine otherwise. Also, it’s a little chilly here today, so I’m finding that I want something non-cold to eat/drink, which isn’t possible with these drinks. I decided to have an avocado & some raw almonds with juice #5 for dinner.

Juice #6 (filtered water, almonds, dates, cinnamon, vanilla, nutmeg)

8:55 p.m. – Oh wowzers! It’s like melted cinnamon ice cream…or thick horchata. So delicious!!!!!

Later

11:45 pm – I finished the water/low-carb drink mix refill in bottle #4. No headache or other weird symptoms today. I did notice that my rings were a little tight on my fingers at bedtime.

Day 2

In much less detail…

Rings still tight this morning. No headache.

Juice #1

9:50 a.m. – I had one cup of coffee. After drinking this one, I filled the empty bottle with water, low-carb drink mix, and a pinch of salt.

Juice #2

11:50 a.m. – After consuming this juice, I filled the empty bottle with water, lemon juice, low-carb drink mix, and a pinch of salt. I drank 1/3 of this refill. It was difficult not to have a string cheese snack with my kids.

Juice #3

1:50 p.m. – I feel full at the get go. I still drank the juice & eventually finished the water refill in bottle #2.

Juice #4

3:50 p.m. – So tasty! – I refilled the empty bottle with water & lemon juice & drank 1/3. After this bottle, my body finally decided to start “processing,” but it was so minimal, I hesitate to even mention it.

Juice #5

6:30 p.m. – I ate a handful of raw almonds with this juice for “dinner.”

Juice #6

9:20 p.m. – I’ve been looking forward to this one all day!

Later

midnight – I drank 1/3 more of lemon water from bottle #4 & dumped the last 1/3.

Day 3

With even less detail…

Juice #1

9:55 a.m. – I also had one cup of coffee. I can barely get my rings off this morning. I refilled the empty bottle with water & low-carb drink mix.

Juice #2

12:00 noon

Juice #3

2:30 p.m.

Juice #4

5:05 p.m. – I was out & about & waited too long to drink this one. I thought I was gonna eat a few almonds with it but didn’t.

Juice #5

6:45 p.m. – I did eat some raw almonds with this juice. Afterwards, I had a cup of hot peppermint tea, because I was chilly.

Juice #6

8:45 p.m.

Further Thoughts

I did not mind 3 days of almost only juice at all! In fact, it made me enjoy/crave healthy juices even more (specifically the Nekter Toxin Flush)! My stomach was happier with the re-set from all the holiday processed carbs. I did not experience any weight loss during this Nekter cleanse review, but most all the juices are high in carbs, so I wasn’t really expecting to. All in all, I’d do it again for a quick re-set.
