I am a Magical Drink crusader, if you will.
I believe in it, I tell everyone I know about it, and most are willing to try it and agree with it’s magical properties. I’ve even gotten my kids to drink a cold/more honeyed version of it. So now you’re wondering, what is this fairy dust immunity boost beverage that you speak of? Let me start with some background…
Nicolette and I are singers and it’s been that way since we were kids. I know everyone that auditions for The Voice or tried out for American Idol (which I have done both…) says that they’ve sung since they came out of the womb but for us it’s the truth. Our dad has three music degrees including a DMA in Composition, met my mom while getting said degree as he was a Teachers Assistant in one of her classes in college. He started as a music professor, then Worship Pastor, then music writer and publisher, back to being a Worship Pastor and now back to music professoring (well really, he’s the Director of the Fred Bock Institute of Music of the Brehm Center for Worship, Theology and the Arts). Our mom has a Bachelor of Music in Vocal Music Education degree, has great musical talent, the most beautiful deep, rich alto voice and producer cred on most of my dad’s projects. No surprise here that we sing- we have the perfect backstory if I actually made it onto one of those shows. (More on that in another post…)
Now when you’re a singer and you have a lot of problems with your throat and tonsils, that brings us back to Magical Drink.
The biggest use and benefit of the drink is for an immune-system boost…
…which usually correlates with a sore throat. Whether you feel a cold coming on or are already in the midst of it, DRINK MAGICAL DRINK. It will help your systems feel better and I swear it stops it in its track or shortens the duration. I am currently “on it” right now as I woke up feeling like crud today…ugh.
So here it is, my recipe for Magical Drink:
1 Cup Drinking Water, heated up to your liking
2 Tbsp Lemon Juice
2 Tbsp Bragg’s Apple Cider Vinegar, shaken well
2 Tbsp Honey
Dash+ Cinnamon
2 Drops Edens Garden Fighting Five Essential Oil Synergy Blend
I believe the magic comes from the Bragg’s Apple Cider Vinegar – you MUST use this kind. It’s magical. You can use another Essential Oil company’s immune boosting oil, but I prefer Edens Garden Essential Oils. I really love their brand! (They have been voted the #1 Non-MLM Essential Oil Company!)
Enjoy and cheers to staying healthy in this cold/flu season!!!
What do you do to stay healthy? Please share in the comments below!
I call this drink the “concoction!”
I need to try this! A whole month of recirculated colds in this house and I can’t take another sore throat! So glad I found your blog! Thanks!
Hope your family gets better soon!
Just in time for the winter season! I will definitely try this especially that my little ones are the ones causing it. Let’s see to stay healthy? I eat a balanced nutrition because of my psoriasis and take my vitamins. =) Thank you for sharing.
Thanks, Renzi! I hope you enjoy it. I make a cool version and add a little extra honey for my little to drink when they aren’t feeling well or see something coming on. They think it tastes like lemonade!
Ladies I am a firm believer in the health benefits of apple cider vinegar. I use an almost identical recipe as a detox. It boots my energy levels and just makes me feel better overall. I will definitely have to try this.
Hi Melanie- I’m with you on the health benefits! And what I love about this drink is the added flavors for a nice, hot beverage in the morning or at night. Enjoy!
I really like using apple cider vinegar! When I drink it I always make sure to rinse my mouth with water to protect my teeth!
Hi Stephanie- Yes, I have heard that too much of it can cause an acid issue with your teeth (just like coffee and other such drinks). Good idea to rinse with water or even have a drink of water after. Thanks for the post!
