I’ve been wearing glasses since the 5th grade and contact lenses since 11th grade. While I still wear my glasses in the evenings, I love the ease and comfort of contacts. What I don’t love is that contact lenses are not cheap and my prescription has been the same for the last four years. So every year I need to order new boxes of lenses I have to shell out an extra $100+ to have an eye doctor give me the same prescription. That’s an expensive signature…I’m in the wrong business apparently. Anyway, this year I was fed up and while I’m not ready to stop wearing contact lenses I was definitely ready to get rid of that extra fee. After doing some research, I decided to try purchasing through Simple Contacts and I was not disappointed.
You won’t be disappointed either! Read my Simple Contacts Order Review and head straight to their website to make your own purchase.
Getting Started: You have two options for how to use their program-computer or phone app. If you use your computer, you’ll need a valid prescription. If you are utilizing this company’s program to skip the doctor’s office visit, you need to download their app from the app store and get started there. Or, if you use your phone, you’ll need a working front camera and microphone as well. It’s easiest if you have both the computer and phone available while doing this. DISCLAIMER: The website/app may have been updated since I followed this process in Sept. 2017 so these steps may not be completely accurate.
First Step: On my computer, I first checked to see if they have the brand I use- Acuvue Oasys with Hydraclear Plus for Astigmatism. (I know, right? I’m half blind…) They carry this brand (yay!) so I clicked on the “Get Started” button on their main page. This will take you to a page asking if you need to renew your prescription. Click NO if you already paid for a doctor to get a new prescription (which means you wasted money but have hope for next year when you come back and can click YES.) Click YES if you’ve seen a doctor within the past five years and only need to take a renewal test and grab your phone.
Renewal Test: The Renewal Test is the key to this whole process- skipping a doctor’s office visit and having their expert doctors review the results you take through the computer/phone for a $10 fee. (A $100 savings from seeing my regular doctor!) This is where you’ll switch over to the app on your phone and click Take Renewal Test. This takes about 5 minutes and it will ask a few questions, including your email address, before walking you through taking the test. After taking the test, you’ll wait for about 1-2 days to receive an email confirming your prescription.
Ordering Contact Lenses: After your prescription is confirmed, you’ll be guided through the process of ordering new contacts. Find your brand, select the number of boxes, enter your credit card info and bam! Contacts ordered and savings enjoyed by all! My contacts arrived within the week- even better with speedy shipping.
Killer Customer Service: I contacted customer service about three times within this whole process. Every time, I received quick, respectful and helpful responses. And EVERY TIME, I was conversing with the same person. I find that with so many online communications these days, even if I hit “Reply” I end up getting a response from someone new. It is quite refreshing that with Simple Contacts, I was with the same agent through all the questions and answers, making it much an easier process.
Price Matching: Yes, I said price matching. In my research, I found that the previous site I ordered through had a better price. Because this was a cost-savings project, I emailed Simple Contacts customer service to ask about price matching. Their response was “yes, we price match.” So after sending them the required information, they credited my account before making my final purchase. Ah-mazing!!!!!!!
Referral Program: One last thing to truly love about online companies these days is referral programs. Simple Contacts doubles it up with their referral program too. If you refer someone through your referral link, you’ll get $20 credited to your account and your friend will get $20 off their first order. Ah-mazing again! It’s a great motivator for users to share and new users to try it out.
Have you been thinking about trying Simple Contacts? I’d love to answer any questions you have below in the comments!

Cool, thanks for sharing! My boyfriend used contacts for about 4 months and it would take him like 6 hours to put them in, haha. He’s since had lasik, but we would use this if he hadn’t.
Hi Stephanie- I remember first getting contacts and I was so freaked out about getting close to my eye- it took me forever! It’s been over 20 years now so I’m a pro but still. Ha! Would love to get Lasik but with the upfront cost I just can’t cut it. I watched someone’s surgery too- talk about freaking out! Yikes. – Cam
I use to wear contact, but have the worst astigmatism.
Hi Melina- I have astigmatism in both eyes and have found the Acuvue Oasys for Astigmatism very comfortable. Maybe something you could check out in the future! – Cam

Yes!! I hate paying for contacts, but love wearing them haha. I will be checking this out!
I know, right? Every year I think “hmmm, maybe I should just wear glasses all the time” and then give in and pay all the money. This is a serious money saver! – Cam
I will have to check this out if and when my daughter wants to start wearing contacts.
Definitely! Look for my post on Pinterest and you can add to one of your boards there to remember the link. Thanks- Cam

This is great and I will use your referral link if it ends up being cheaper for me. The last time I was able to use ebates and a promo code but without the doctors visit it would be much more convenient for me. Thanks!
Glad to help, Monica! (I love me some Ebates deals too!!!) – Cam
